White Lady by Ed Slater

White Lady

“Few of my paintings stem from one idea, most are creations of hundreds of ideas that are spontaneously transferred to the canvas over a period of time which can be months or years.

Starting with a thick layer of white acrylic and dried with a heat gun which produces the initial texture, brush strokes and abstract forms, followed by layers and layers of diluted glass paint until the alluvial flow and nature expands my aesthetic awareness to create an expression, what I like to think is an image of my imagination.

I am inspired by Anselm Keifer and admire Jack Vetriano for going it his own way without the cliquey and egotistic interference of the establishment.”
