Welcome to my website and Road-End Studio's online gallery.

"Living in the remote Dalveen Pass on the Dumfriesshire borders you can't help being influenced by its primordial ambiance it reconnects one with the magic of the natural world. Road-End Studio takes its name from the cottage and is situated in the old cowshed and surrounded by a wild life garden where two thousand indiginous trees and shrubs have recently been planted, ergo the studio itself is worth a visit.

My style of painting therefore is an alchemy of mixed media consisting of acrylic paint, gold-leaf paint, glass paint, varnishes, oil pastels and various materials collected from the surrounding countryside ie pebbles and sand from the rivers and burns, tree bark and pine needles from ancient trees. I try and imfuse my creations with the sense of this place to create abstract and symbolic images that may portray that magical connection between the inner self and our living planet, hope you like my journey, Ed."
